If your books live in QuickBooks Online, we work inside your company file. The bank feed brings transactions in, and our part is the judgment the feed cannot supply: which account each one belongs to, and whether your chart of accounts still describes the business you run.

What QuickBooks Online is
QuickBooks Online is accounting software made by Intuit Inc. It runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to install and it can be opened from any device with an internet connection. Intuit describes it as built for small and medium sized businesses and names service companies, retailers, contractors, healthcare providers and technology firms among its users. It also says accountants and bookkeepers can be invited into a company file, which matters if your books are kept by someone outside your team.
What a bookkeeper actually works with
- Bank feeds. Bank and credit card transactions can be connected and pulled in automatically. Someone still has to review and categorize them, because a feed brings in transactions, not judgment.
- Chart of accounts. Intuit offers standard charts by industry and a CSV import for companies that did not choose one at setup. A tidy chart makes every report easier to read, so it is worth settling before the transactions pile up.
- Invoicing. Invoices can be created and sent, payment reminders can be set, and customers can pay online.
- Reports. Profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports are included, with options to customize them.
- Integrations. QuickBooks connects to payroll, time tracking, payments and other third party apps.
Plan structure
Intuit sells QuickBooks Online in tiers named Simple Start, Essentials, Plus and Advanced. Intuit also lists a free option for solo owners. Features and limits differ between tiers and change over time, so read the current comparison on Intuit's site before you pick one.
Things to check before choosing it or moving to it
- Whether the plan you are considering covers the features you need today, such as the number of people who need access and any reporting you rely on.
- Which of your other tools it connects to, especially payroll, payments and your point of sale or job tracking system.
- How your existing chart of accounts will map across. Imported accounts bring structure, not history, so decide how opening balances and prior period data will be handled.
- Whether your accountant or tax preparer is comfortable working in it.
- If you operate in more than one currency, confirm that support on the plan you want. We did not find it on the Intuit page we read.
Software choice rarely fixes messy books by itself. It changes how easy they are to keep clean.

Yes. In QuickBooks that usually means untangling miscategorized feed transactions, unreconciled accounts and a chart of accounts that grew without a plan. We review the file first, then quote a fixed fee for the cleanup.
Do you prepare tax returns?
No. Tax preparation is outside our services. We coordinate with your CPA or tax professional so your books support the work they do.
