What month-end bookkeeping is

At the end of each month, the books need to be brought up to date and checked so the figures are complete and consistent. That usually means making sure every transaction is recorded and categorized, bank and credit-card accounts agree with your records, and what you owe and are owed is up to date. Only then can financial statements be relied on.

What we do

Month-end bookkeeping is part of our bookkeeping service, which can include:

  • Transaction categorization and bank and credit-card reconciliation
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Month-end bookkeeping
  • Financial statement preparation

For businesses that need more oversight, our Fractional Financial Controller service adds month-end close oversight, and monthly reporting to go with it.

Cost and what we don’t do

Bookkeeping, including month-end bookkeeping, starts from $500 a month. Pricing is custom to your business and charged as one fixed monthly fee that includes all the work required. See pricing.

We don’t prepare tax returns, perform audits or give investment advice. Where tax work is needed, we work alongside your CPA or tax professional.
